The Kama Sutra
by Samuel L. Bronkowitz
Imagine every day, for five years straight, you eat the same thing for
breakfast. Let's say that the breakfast consists of oatmeal, some
honey and a cup of sweetened green tea. You eat this, every day,
365 days a year, every morning you wake up. You dream of exotic
muffins with all sorts of wild berries inside, or perhaps waffles topped
with strawberries. Maybe an omelet. But you cannot . and every
day, it's oatmeal. Again. And again.
It's not that you don't like oatmeal per se - in fact, you feel it's a
substantial part of your diet. You believe - and perhaps so does
your physician - that the oatmeal is good for your cholesterol. But
you don't care, and you want to break up the monotony. But where
do you turn? You can't have everything at once. Maybe you want to
go out to eat. Maybe you want to take cooking classes at the local
community college.
Strangely enough, this metaphor can apply to your love life. We're
not comparing your spouse to oatmeal, or any other breakfast item,
but you get the point. You may love that oatmeal, honey and the cup
of green tea, but you'd like to try something new. It'll still be breakfast,
but it will be revamped somewhat. You want to keep an eye on your
cholesterol, remember.
Sex has been compared to food a lot in books and film - and integrated
in Adrian Lyne's 9½ Weeks. If you want a better meal, buy a cookbook.
But what about sex? How do you add spice to your sex life without going
too far? Flavor your oatmeal don't replace it with something else.
Books are certainly one way to go. The Kama Sutra, a famous "sex
manual" from India is notably famous for its elaborate descriptions and
time-tested advice (The Perfumed Garden is another infamous guide).
Couples every year search through its many pages to try new erotic Kama Sutra positions and add them to their sexual repertoire. The Kama Sutra is
not simply a how-to guide, like an instruction sheet on how to build a
car, but focuses on other forms of non-physical intimacy, from
communication to developing just the right ambience. New forms of
romanticism and eroticism bring the spice back to sex that was, frankly,
getting to be a little old hat.
At ForRomance.com, you can find many such items to help you on your
journey to sexual enlightenment. Our specially created boxes contain
fragrances, perfumes, music, candles, books, everything to heighten the
experience. It is our goal to make your mornings and evenings nicer times;
full of the same adventure it had in the past. Trust us: you'll look forward
to the oatmeal again . but this time, with a kick.
